Sometimes a corporate portrait is just a studio-based head shot. Neutral background, controlled and flattering lighting. We've done hundreds of those, most often by bringing the studio to the office or factory.
Other times, a corporate photos just needs to be within the environment that reflects the work of that business. Such was the case in this photo of Steve Dekker, the president and owner of Dekker Stairs. They build custom stairs and have a large and impressive factory floor that is full of wood and flying sawdust. In this case a neutral background wouldn't be right. So we photographed Steve with a set of custom stairs.
Anyone in the trades who knows Steve would recognize him immediately, because they relate not only to him but to his craftsmanship.
